Poet Press, the publisher of New Philosopher, is offering a 12-month cadetship with 50% of the funding coming from the Australian Government as part of the Publishers' Innovation Fund. The successful applicant will be employed as a cadet journalist for 12 months at Poet Press, with on-the-job training and mentoring from senior staff to help them learn to research, edit, and plan articles and interviews. Tasks will span across digital, online, social, and print media, and will include work on text, audio, image, and video content.
Applicants should be based in Hobart, must be available to start immediately, and should have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Journalism, Philosophy, or Arts. A passion for philosophy and public interest journalism is essential.
