First Orbit is a documentary that follows the first spaceflight by Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin aboard Vostok 1 in real time using images shot by astronauts at the International Space Station and archive audio. The archive audio includes portions of Gagarin’s original mission audio from the Russian State Archive. These historic recordings principally document the conversation between Yuri Gagarin onboard Vostok 1 and Sergei Korolev on the ground.
This is the first time that this much of the flight audio has been heard outside Russia.
